Morpheus8

What is Morpheus8?

Morpheus8 skin tightening is an advanced skin contouring procedure offered by Beverly Wilshire Aesthetics that employs directed radio waves. This approach to combating wrinkles, acne scarring, and improving the overall glow of the skin can be used as a type of non-surgical facelift. It can also be used anywhere on the body that may benefit from rejuvenation. The technology has been shown to be both safe and effective.

How Does Morpheus8 Work?

Morpheus8 uses targeted radio frequencies that are emitted subcutaneously via tiny needles to stimulate the body’s healing response and spur the production of collagen and elastin. These essential proteins are typically found in abundance in young, healthy skin and decrease as we age. By increasing the production of these proteins, aging skin will be revitalized and appear more radiant. Experts and clients agree that Morpheus8’s outcomes are significantly more powerful in terms of facial rejuvenation than older micro needling procedures.

After local anesthesia is administered, a device tipped with tiny needles is applied directly to the skin for several seconds at a time with a light stamping motion. All the while, the device emits radio waves to heat deeper layers of the skin without causing damage. Since energy waves are spread evenly, deep remodeling and resurfacing can be achieved.

For most patients who are getting a Morpheus treatment for skin tightening in Beverly Hills at our offices, noticeable results tend to take shape after three to six sessions, spaced two or three weeks apart. For most patients, final results appear approximately six weeks after the last session.

Does Morpheus8 Treatment Hurt?

Many patients report that Morpheus8 feels like “intense tweezing.” To ensure clients are as comfortable as possible, topical anesthesia creams are applied to numb the skin before treatment begins. Additionally, the applicator needles are extremely small and sharp, further minimizing discomfort. After the procedure, the treated area may feel a little tender or itchy. General redness and slight bruising are also common side effects, while pinpoint bleeding may occur immediately after the procedure. Aquaphor or in-office Skin Nectar applications are sufficient for protecting the treatment area and easing any lingering discomfort. Pain medications should not be necessary, and any side effects should dissipate within 48 hours.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

The average Morpheus8 session lasts about 30 minutes, though it should be noted that topical anesthesia is generally applied about an hour before treatment. Since there’s very little recovery involved, patients can typically go about their normal day once the procedure is complete.

While Morpheus8 can lessen the prominence of acne scars, it is not intended for patients who are actively experiencing skin breakouts. If used when they should not be, applicators can spread acne-causing bacteria and worsen breakouts.

Results usually last about one year, at which point a follow-up session is recommended.
