Before and Aftercare of Morpheus8

Morpheus8 is a great treatment option for those wanting to look younger without undergoing risky treatments. Generally, your doctor recommends what to do and what not to do after Morpheus8. To get better results and shorten the recovery time, let’s review Morpheus8 after care and pre-care.

Morpheus8 Pre-Care

Before the procedure, you have to avoid direct sunlight and skin irritants. It’s better to stop laser resurfacing, chemical peel treatments, and waxing three months prior. We also suggest you avoid topical creams and anything that irritates your skin, such as tanning beds and sprays, two weeks before treatment.

A Week Before the Morpheus8 Treatment

Starting from a week before your treatment, you should avoid taking aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen. You ask why? Well, because they interfere with normal blood clotting. Doctors recommend acetaminophen if you are in discomfort and need medication to ease the pain. But even with acetaminophen, you can’t take more than 3000 mg daily.

On the Day of the Procedure

Take a shower, but don’t apply body lotions, oils, or any powders. Clean your face and neck, but do not put on any makeup. If you have long hair, make a bun or pull all your hair back using a hairband.

Morpheus8 Aftercare

After the procedure, your doctor will give you post-procedure instructions. But generally, washing your hands before touching the treated areas and avoiding scrubbing them is always recommended in Morpheus8 post care. Don’t forget to use soft and clean towels and pillowcases as well.

Three Days After the Treatment

The first 72 hours of post-procedure is crucial for the best result. So, here are general tips, especially for the first three days:

Avoid Skin Irritators

You are forbidden to use alpha-hydroxy acids, retinol, and even beta-hydroxy acid for three days after the treatment. It would be best to avoid skin treatments like laser procedures and microdermabrasion. You should also avoid exposing your skin to direct sunlight in Morpheus8 post care. Give the treatment area ample time to heal.

Protect and Hydrate Your Skin

We advise you to use mild and fragrance-free soaps and avoid applying makeup for a few days. You can resume using skin care products after 2 to 3 days. In addition, you must use a post-procedure moisturizer, a high-SPF mineral sunscreen and avoid direct sun exposure. Chemical sunscreens irritate your skin and cause redness and itching, so it is better to avoid them.

Stop the Sweat

Avoid heavy exercise and swimming. You could resume light exercise after three days and serious, intense workouts after seven days.

Morpheus8 Recovery Time

After this treatment, the skin feels warm and may crust and peel for 3 to 7 days. Some patients may experience superficial bruising around the eyes. Redness and small needle marks will last for up to a week. In the first 24 to 72 hours after treatment, some side effects, such as redness, swelling, and small scabs, are normal. You can expect Morpheus8 healing process last about one month. It would be best to repeat the treatment over several months to achieve the best results.

How Long Do Morpheus8 Results Last? Is Morpheus8 Permanent?

This treatment usually shows a long, promising result if you pay attention to Morpheus8 pre and post care. However, time marches on, and you will have aging signs in the treated areas. So, patients usually come back after one to three years to freshen it up.
