During our initial consultation, we will ask you about your goals and expectations to develop a personalized treatment plan for you.
We’ll also ask about your medical history and any medications you take since that can influence whether you’re a good candidate for the BodyTite procedure.
If you’re a good candidate, we recommend that you avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements for a few days before the procedure so that you don’t have issues with the healing process. You need to avoid unprotected sun exposure because that can make your skin more sensitive.
If you smoke, we recommend you quit. Make sure to also stop drinking alcohol a few days before your appointment.
On the day of the BodyTite procedure, we recommend you take a shower with antibacterial soap and don’t wear makeup, lotions, or other substances to the appointment. Additionally, it can be a good idea to ask someone to drive you to and from the procedure.
Before beginning the treatment, we will apply a local anesthetic to the area. Once it takes effect, we will make incisions to give us access to the fatty tissue.
Through those incisions, we will insert the BodyTite device and allow it to heat the fat to the necessary temperature. To remove the liquified fat, we will use a small tube called a cannula, which suctions it out.
For most people, the BodyTite procedure takes between 30 and 45 minutes per area.
You’ll need a few days of downtime to recover from the procedure. Take the time to rest so that you can heal as soon as possible. You want to continue avoiding blood thinners, alcohol, and smoking since all of those substances can slow down the healing process.
It’s also important to avoid hot tubs, saunas, and swimming for at least a month. We encourage all of our clients to wear compression garments.
You can see immediate results, but for the majority of people, the full results will take between three and six months. Remember that while the fat cells we remove won’t grow back, gaining weight can lead to the growth of other fat cells.
